Barbarians end season with heads held high.

This week the Monash Barbarians lined up against a tough Melbourne Uni Royals teams who had only lost one Division 2 game all season. They played for the State title, the Div 2 Vicbowl.
The Barbarians played an outstanding game , holding the much vaunted passing attack of the Royals to just 2 scores in the first half of play. The Royals stacked the box and forced the Barbs to pass, something they had not done all year. On this ground on this day, Keiren Dwyer, the Barbarian quarterback let fly. Back in the shotgun he let loose ball after ball to his receivers, moving up and down the field. After one score , three other balls were dropped in the endzone. The game could have gone either way. The Barbs Defense shut down the Royals in the second half and had the run of the play. In the last 2 minutes the Royals held at the 3 yard line to deprive the Barbs of the tying score and a chance to bring home the title. A season that started 0 and 5 had been turned around by the will and determination of the Barbarian players and showed that they are true Champions.
