In what was always anticipated as the battle for the TGI Friday’s Vic Bowl XXX The Warriors took the field once again against the Geelong Buccaneers, this time in Bendigo under lights.
With Gridiron Victoria streaming the game on their youtube channel, all of our fans were able to catch the game no matter where they were in the world.
Recent history has seen the Warriors defeat the Buccaneers in Vic Bowls (4-0 leading into Vic Bowl XXX) however the Buccaneers were looking to make their own history by going the whole season undefeated, a mark they fell short of at the final hurdle in 2013 when the Warriors defeated them 30-13 in Vic Bowl XXIX.
With the different format of divisions in 2014, the Warriors were top of Division A whilst the Buccaneers were top of Division B. With the split divisions, this only enable to Warriors to meet the Buccaneers once in the regular season, Week 1 in Corio where the Buccaneers defeated the Warriors 49-22.
